Lemondogs came from behind to beat Natus Vincere 2-1 (7-16 on de_mirage_ce, 16-11 on de_train and 16-11 on de_dust2_se) to reach the grand final of DreamHack Bucharest.
Inspired by a convincing victory against Copenhagen Wolves in the quarter-finals, Na´Vi got off to a great start on de_mirage_ce and won the first four rounds of the match. LD then finally managed to respond and reduced the deficit to 4-2, but when everyone thought that they were finally getting the hang of it, Na´Vi surprised the Swedes and regained control of proceedings with a stunning eco round.
The Ukrainian team continued in the driving seat, but when the score was 9-3 in their favour, some technical problems occurred, forcing the match to be paused for more than 10 minutes. This break did Lemondogs some good, as the Swedish team were able to pick up two more rounds before half-time, where the scoreline was 10-5 in favour of Na´Vi.
More computer problems then followed, causing further delays, but this time around Na´Vi remained in control and eventually won the map 16-7 to gain the upper hand in the game.
Na´Vi looked very sharp on mirage
The map that followed was de_train_se, where LD are known to be a very strong side, in part because of Marcus "DelpaN" Larsson's amazing AWPing skills. The Swedish side got on board right off the bat, winning the pistol round and then the first anti-eco around, but a buying attempt from Na´Vi in the third round bore fruits and allowed the Ukrainian team to make it 1-2.
But Lemondogs responded well and regained control of the game, making it 9-3 in their favour. In the latter stages of the first half, though, it was all about Na´Vi, who managed to reduce the deficit to three rounds going into the break.
In the second half, Na´Vi picked up where they had left off, going for a straight rush onto the inner bombsite that surprised the Swedes. Na´Vi’s players took some severe damage thanks to LD’s good grenade work, but the Ukrainian side kept rushing forward and won the round with ease.
Na´Vi then equalised the match on nine rounds, and it did look like they were going to go for the victory, but Lemondogs, powered by Larsson and Simon "twist" Eliasson, kept the Ukrainians at bay and won the map 16-11.
LD had the upper hand on de_train
The third map began with a great display of individual skill from Anton "kibaken" Kolesnikov, who caught LD's players from behind and got four kills to give Na´Vi a round that seemed to be lost.
Facing a deficit of 0-3, the Swedish team then picked themselves up and turned the score around, and they will have Larsson to thank for that, as the former SK Gaming talent turned in a world-class display on this map, with several jaw-dropping rounds.
After LD picked up a 9-6 lead in the game, several rounds were exchanged between the two teams early in the second half, as the score reached 11-11 at a certain point, but then the Swedes showed they were the better side and sealed passage into the grand final.
