Invites for the North American closed qualifier for DreamHack ZOWIE Open Austin have just been announced by the organizers.

The second tournament of DreamHack's ZOWIE Open circuit, taking place in Austin on May 6-8, will feature eight teams, two of which will come from the North American closed qualifier on Sunday, March 27.

Before that a best-of-one open qualifier for a maximum of 512 teams will take place on Saturday, March 26, offering eight spots in the closed qualifier, with the other eight having been invited.

Interestingly, neither Liquid or CLG, two of the best teams in the region, have been invited for the closed qualifier. However, DreamHack has not yet revealed the six teams invited directly for their first North American event.

The eight teams who will participate in the closed qualifier, joined by eight coming from the open qualifier, are the following:

All matches up to the semi-finals, whose winners will advance to the $100,000 tournament in Austin, will be played in a best-of-three and follow this schedule:
